1. Overview
This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, why we collect it, and the choices you have. SPI Markets is operated by John Scarpelli (“we,” “us,” or “our”).
By using the service, you agree to this Policy and our Terms of Service.
2. Information we collect
Account information. If you create an account: email, password (stored hashed), optional username, and profile preferences you provide.
Collection data. Pairs, sizes, cost basis, wardrobe items, outfit boards, and images you choose to save in Portfolio or Wardrobe.
Communications. Messages you send through Contact or similar forms (topic, message, email if provided).
Usage and device data. Standard logs such as IP address, browser type, pages viewed, timestamps, and approximate location derived from IP — typically via our hosting provider.
Local device storage. Some settings, drafts, or legacy vault data may live in your browser (cookies, localStorage) until you clear them or sync to an account.
Payments. If you buy Plus, payment card details are handled by our processor (e.g. Stripe). We receive limited payment metadata (status, amount, customer id) — not your full card number.
3. How we use information
- Provide, maintain, and improve SPI Markets
- Authenticate accounts and sync Collection across devices
- Respond to contact messages and support requests
- Process payments and manage Plus access
- Monitor abuse, security, rate limits, and reliability
- Comply with law and enforce our Terms
We do not sell your personal information.
5. Retention
We keep account and Collection data while your account is active and for a reasonable period afterward if needed for backups, disputes, or legal obligations. You may request deletion (see below). Server logs are retained for a limited operational window.
6. Security
We use reasonable technical and organizational measures (encryption in transit, hashed passwords, restricted secrets). No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure.
7. Your choices and rights
- Update profile details in-product where available
- Clear browser storage / cookies on your device
- Request access, correction, or deletion of account data via Contact
- Stop using the service and close your account on request
Depending on where you live (for example EEA/UK or certain US states), you may have additional rights. Contact us to exercise them. We may need to verify your request.
8. Children
SPI Markets is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe we have, contact us and we will delete it.
9. International users
We operate primarily from the United States. If you use SPI Markets from elsewhere, your information may be processed in the U.S. or other countries where our providers run.
10. Changes
We may update this Policy from time to time. The effective date at the top will change when we do. Continued use after an update means you accept the revised Policy.
